On May 28, senior U.S. and Ukrainian government representatives held discussions that reaffirmed the mutual commitment to expanding trade and economic cooperation between the United States and Ukraine. Assistant US Trade Representative L. Daniel Mullaney, co-chair on the U.S. side, led an inter-agency delegation to Kyiv, Ukraine for the fifth meeting of the U.S.-Ukraine Trade and Investment Council (TIC).

Participants discussed a range of issues, including how to address barriers to increased bilateral trade and how to improve the business and investment climate. Both sides agreed on the need for continued engagement throughout the year on the range of issues discussed, with the goal of announcing forward progress. As appropriate, including at the upcoming U.S.-Ukraine Business Forum to be held July 13 in Washington, DC.
"We are excited about the dedication and energy of our Ukrainian colleagues, and energized about the robust agenda we have set for the coming year" said AUSTR Mullaney. "I look forward to working with the Minister and his team to deepen out engagement."
In addition to the TIC, AUSTR Mullaney will meet with counterparts in several Ukrainian ministries to reinforce a message of support and encouragement for continued economic reform.
