The Eighth Ministerial Meeting to advance negotiations for the Free Trade Area of the Americas was held in Miami on November 20 -21, 2003. Involving 34 countries in a marketplace of 800 million people, the FTAA was launched formally at the 1994 Summit of the Americas in Miami, and is scheduled to be completed by January 2005. |
