WASHINGTON - United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today met with Canada's Minister of Labor, Seamus O'Regan.
Ambassador Tai and Minister O'Regan emphasized the United States' and Canada's joint commitment to ensuring that trade benefits workers across North America. Ambassador Tai and Minister O'Regan discussed ongoing efforts to eliminate forced labor in global supply chains, including through the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement. The Ministers also shared ideas on how both countries can continue working together to promote fair and responsible growth. Additionally, Ambassador Tai highlighted the Biden-Harris Administration's vision for inclusive, worker-centered trade policy that creates durable, resilient, and sustainable growth.
