JAIPUR – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today met with World Trade Organization (WTO) Director General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala ahead of the G20 Trade and Investment Ministers’ Meeting.
Ambassador Tai underscored continued U.S. commitment to the WTO, and to leadership in reforms that ensure the WTO effectively works on behalf of all its members, and all people. Ambassador Tai emphasized that the United States is doing everything possible to support a successful 13th WTO Ministerial Conference in 2024. The two discussed ways that the gathering should build on the many successes of MC12 to be the WTO’s first reform ministerial.
Ambassador Tai and Director General Okonjo-Iweala agreed to remain in close coordination in the weeks and months ahead.
