Kuwait Trade & Investment Summary
U.S. goods exports to Kuwait in 2022 were $3.4 billion, up 11.8 percent ($357 million) from 2021 and up 27 percent from 2012. U.S. goods imports from Kuwait totaled $2.0 billion in 2022, up 90.6 percent ($970 million) from 2021, but down 84 percent from 2012. The U.S. goods trade surplus with Kuwait was $1.4 billion in 2022, a 31.1 percent decrease ($612 million) over 2021.
U.S. foreign direct investment (FDI) in Kuwait (stock) was $685 million in 2022, a 10.3 percent increase from 2021.
Kuwait's FDI in the United States (stock) was $1.4 billion in 2022, down 2.4 percent from 2021. Kuwait's direct investment in the U.S. is led by real estate, wholesale trade, and wholesale trade.
