WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai will travel to Vietnam, Malaysia and Germany on February 13-19.
On February 13-15, Ambassador Tai will be in Hanoi, Vietnam to meet with Vietnamese government officials, including at the Ministry of Investment and Trade and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ambassador Tai’s trip to Hanoi comes as the United States and Vietnam prepare in 2023 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the U.S.-Vietnam Comprehensive Partnership, which has since strengthened the overall relationship and deepened bilateral trade and investment between the two countries.
On February 16, Ambassador Tai will be in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She will meet with Malaysian government officials, including at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry and Ministry of Human Resources.
In Hanoi and Kuala Lumpur, Ambassador Tai will also meet with labor stakeholders and private sector representatives to discussed opportunities for increased cooperation with the United States and share the Biden Administration’s priorities for the region, including the ongoing negotiations on the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework.
On February 17-19, Ambassador Tai will be in Munich, Germany. She will attend the 59th Munich Security Conference and discuss the Biden Administration’s vision for a resilient multilateral international trading system that responds to the needs of people around the world.
