Trade Agreements: The U.S. and Liberia signed a Trade & Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) in 2007. The most recent U.S.-Liberia TIFA Council Meeting was held in March 2009.

Liberia Trade & Investment Summary

U.S. goods exports to Liberia in 2022 were $261 million, up 86.8 percent ($121 million) from 2021 and up 8 percent from 2012. U.S. goods imports from Liberia totaled $81 million in 2022, up 10.6 percent ($8 million) from 2021, but down 44 percent from 2012.  The U.S. goods trade surplus with Liberia was $180 million in 2022, a 170.2 percent increase ($113 million) over 2021.

U.S. foreign direct investment (FDI) in Liberia (stock) was $791 million in 2021 (latest data available).

Liberia's FDI in the United States (stock) was $586 million in 2022, down 2.0 percent from 2021.
