Ambassador Tai will join President Biden at the United States – European Union Summit and hold bilateral meetings in Brussels and London
WASHINGTON – On Sunday, June 13, Ambassador Katherine Tai will arrive in Brussels for the U.S. – EU Summit, marking her first foreign trip since being sworn in as United States Trade Representative. During her visit, Ambassador Tai will continue to elevate our historic worker-centered trade policy, continue efforts to resolve long-standing disputes with our allies and support the Biden-Harris Administration’s foreign policy for the middle class.
While in Brussels, Ambassador Tai will hold bilateral meetings with her international counterparts, including European Commission Executive Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis. She will then join President Biden and members of the Administration at the U.S. – EU Summit on Tuesday, June 15. The summit will underscore our commitment to a strong Transatlantic partnership based on shared interests and values. The leaders will discuss a common agenda to ensure global health security, stimulate global economic recovery, tackle climate change, enhance digital and trade cooperation, strengthen democracy, and address mutual foreign policy concerns.
On Wednesday, June 16, Ambassador Tai will travel to London and hold bilateral meetings with Secretary of State for International Trade, Elizabeth Truss. Ambassador Tai will return to the United States on Thursday, June 17.
