BRUSSELS – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today met with European Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton and discussed a wide range of issues including their shared commitment to strengthening the transatlantic trade relationship. Ambassador Tai reiterated the Biden-Harris Administration’s support for temporarily waiving intellectual property protections for COVID-19 vaccines and increasing production and equitable distribution of vaccines around the world. Ambassador Tai and Commissioner Breton agreed to maintain an open line of communication on trade-related issues between the United States and the European Union.
