WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today met virtually with Spanish Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism Maria Reyes Maroto.
Ambassador Tai and Minister Reyes Maroto discussed the importance of developing a more positive and productive trade and investment relationship between the United States and Spain. They agreed to work to strengthen U.S.-Spanish collaboration on mutual interests, including resolving the WTO large civil aircraft disputes. They also discussed Spain’s digital service tax, the challenges presented by global excess steel and aluminum capacity, and the two countries’ shared commitment to finding mutually beneficial outcomes. Ambassador Tai and Minister Maroto agreed to engage on a regular basis to raise and discuss key issues.
