WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, September 28, 2021, United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai will travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to attend the inaugural Trade and Technology Council (TTC) meetings with the European Union. The United States delegation includes Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo. The European Union delegation includes European Commission Executive Vice President Margrethe Vestager, European Commission Executive Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis, and Ambassador of the European Union to the United States Stavros Lambrinidis.
On Wednesday, September 29, 2021 Ambassador Tai will participate in a stakeholder roundtable with Secretaries Raimondo and Blinken, Executive Vice Presidents Vestager and Dombrovskis, Ambassador Lambrinidis, local elected officials, and Pittsburgh business and education leaders.
Ambassador Tai will also participate in a TTC ministerial meeting with Secretaries Raimondo and Blinken, Executive Vice Presidents Vestager and Dombrovskis, and Ambassador Lambrinidis.
Later in the day, Ambassador Tai will participate in a stakeholder roundtable with Secretaries Raimondo and Blinken, Executive Vice Presidents Vestager and Dombrovskis, Ambassador Lambrinidis, and education and business leaders.
On Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 9:30am, Ambassador Tai will tour Argo AI with Secretaries Raimondo and Blinken, Executive Vice Presidents Vestager and Dombrovskis, and Ambassador Lambrinidis.
After the TTC concludes, Ambassador Tai will visit Carnegie Mellon University for a “Innovations That Transform” lab tour and participate in a roundtable discussion with students and faculty.
