WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today met with Kazakhstan’s Minister of Trade and Integration Bakhyt Sultanov.
Ambassador Tai outlined her vision for an inclusive, worker-centered trade policy that increases economic security and prosperity for workers in both countries and emphasized the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to deepening the U.S. trade relationship with Central Asia.
They expressed a shared commitment to strengthen the U.S. – Kazakhstan economic relationship and discussed key areas of mutual interest such as worker rights, digital trade, agricultural standards, and trade facilitation. Ambassador Tai thanked the government of Kazakhstan for chairing the upcoming WTO Ministerial Conference.
