SEOUL – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai and Deputy United States Trade Representative Sarah Bianchi today participated in a roundtable discussion with former Korean Minister for Trade Yoo Myung-hee and female trade experts from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and trade professionals from various U.S. and Korean companies.
During the discussion, Ambassador Tai emphasized the Biden-Harris Administration’s dedication to advancing gender equity and equality in the global economy. She highlighted her commitment to crafting trade policy that promotes women’s economic empowerment with a particular emphasis on micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises. Ambassador Tai noted that giving these individuals a seat at the table in the formulation of trade policy ensures that the benefits are more durable, equitable, and inclusive.
